Risk Assessments and why they matter


Risk assessments are put in place to prevent incidents, and if they do happen, how to treat them .


Assess risk as to what could go wrong.


Information includes locations, scene being shot, assembly points in an emergency.


They matter as they are addressing anything that can go wrong and how to treat, safely and efficiently.

General hazards would also be listed



Examples of risks:


ART DIRECTION: LIGHTING HAIR AND MAKEUP

Building sets Cables Allergies

Scalpels electricity chemicals

Loose cables trips heat/burns (tools)

Spillages weather loose cables

Rigging heavy equipment hygiene


Working with Covid


Masks, sanitising, social distancing- essential!

  • Most sets have a 2m distance. Covid supervisor has a 2m stick that they will use to distance the crew and cast.

  • Productions cant enforce vaccinations and ask if you are vaccinated.

There were around 30 risks/hazard scenarios.
